****October Cohort Class****Accurately and in a timely manner fills unit dose cart, floor stock, medication orders, and delivers to patient care areas to ensure availability of ordered drugs and supplies. Is knowledgeable in the use and stocking of automated medication cabinets.
• Accurately prepares I.V. admixtures, using sterile technique.
• Accurately and in a timely manner, prepares prescriptions for pharmacist review and dispensing.
• Accurately compounds specialty items.
• Pre-packages and labels bulk medications for unit dose / unit of use dispensing with computer and associated equipment.
• Checks floor stock and / or pharmacy stock for outdates, overstock, and proper storage on a monthly basis to ensure the use of high-quality medications.
• Maintains cost effective inventory of bulk items, utilizing soon to expire items quickly, and decreasing overstock of inventory.
• Demonstrates technical skill level in utilizing a variety of pharmaceutical competencies including, but not limited to, calculations, aseptic technique and cytotoxic drug properties.
• Maintains patient and other records using pharmacy computers and manual systems to ensure timely and accurate patient billings and compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Alerts pharmacy director, coordinator, clinical coordinator, or pharmacist of immediate problems requiring corrective action in a timely manner.
• Screens nursing and physician inquiries and phone calls by directing to appropriate pharmacist to ensure accurate and timely communication.
• Performs special projects and other activities as assigned to increase and improve level of service, skill level, and productivity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements [Required]
• Ability to understand and process dictated instructions and directions [Required]
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and basic computer skills [Required]
• Ability to function at a high level in a physically demanding, high-stress environment and work under stressful conditions [Required]
• Ability to work well with multiple team members and demonstrate clear communication, strong anticipatory skills, and concentration to detail [Required]
• Ability to work irregular hours including call hours [Required]
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills [Required]
• Basic skills related to aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation [Preferred]
• Up-to-date knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Preferred]
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws [Preferred]
• Knowledge of assembly of mechanical devices and fundamental human anatomy [Preferred]
• Familiarity with practices such as Malignant Hyperthermia, Surgical Site Infection Prevention, Emergency Code Cart, high and low level disinfection, Clinical Alarms, Medication Management, Isolation Precautions, Fire Safety, AIDET, and SBAR [Preferred]
Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:
• 1+ year of experience in a surgical setting [Preferred]
Additional Information:
• Enrollment in an approved Surgical Technician Program [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
$20.38 - $32.60Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
