Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in surgical procedures with competence and professionalism, ensuring proper handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Responsibilities include scrubbing for surgeries, assisting physicians during procedures, and supporting the operational needs of the department. The role requires maintaining clinical knowledge and technical skills, ensuring equipment readiness, and upholding safety and cleanliness standards, including disinfection of endoscopes. The Surgical Technician must possess excellent organizational and time management skills, demonstrate good judgment, and adapt positively to changing circumstances.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate from an accepted surgical technology certification program
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical tech experience in L&D
- Certification in Surgical Technology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Physical & Environmental Demands:
This role involves exerting physical effort, including occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds and frequently moving objects weighing 10-20 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue, with potential occupational risks for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
