Surgical Technologist

Facility is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support surgical procedures within the Operating Room. The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile fields, handling surgical instruments, and assisting surgeons during procedures. Candidates must have recent experience in Orthopedic Trauma, Neurosurgery, Spine Surgery, Gynecology, and Urology.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA required/preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience.
• Strong knowledge of surgical principles, aseptic techniques, and sterile processing.
• Experience scrubbing for:
  • Orthopedic Trauma
  • Neurosurgery
  • Spine Surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Urology

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to procedure requirements.
• Function as the scrub technologist during surgeries.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments and supplies efficiently.
• Ensure proper handling, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments.
• Assist with patient positioning and operating room preparation.
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies.
• Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Required Skills

• Strong orthopedic, neuro, spine, gynecology, and urology surgical experience.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and patient safety.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting, pushing, and pulling as required.
