Certified Surgical Technologist
Meritus Urology Practice | Full-Time | 80 Hours Biweekly | M-F 7:00am-3:30pm
At Meritus Health, exceptional patient care begins with a collaborative, well‑coordinated clinical team. In our Urology practice, the Certified Surgical Technologist plays a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and compassionate care for patients undergoing in‑office procedures and specialty evaluations. Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and in partnership with our Urology providers, you'll prepare procedure rooms, maintain sterile technique, assist with minor procedures, and help ensure a smooth, patient‑centered clinic experience.
This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional with strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork. You'll demonstrate advanced knowledge of sterile processing, procedure preparation, and age‑specific competencies to support high‑quality care in a fast‑paced specialty environment.
Key Responsibilities
Procedure Preparation - Prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment for in‑office urologic procedures (e.g., cystoscopy, vasectomy, catheter placements, bladder instillations).
Sterile Technique - Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper handling, cleaning, and processing of instruments.
Provider Assistance - Anticipate provider needs during procedures and respond proactively to support safe, efficient care.
Patient Preparation - Prepare patients for procedures, provide clear instructions, and support comfort and dignity throughout the visit.
Clinic Workflow Support - Assist with room turnover, supply management, equipment checks, and maintaining readiness of procedure spaces.
Documentation & Communication - Communicate effectively with providers, RNs, and clinic staff; report equipment concerns promptly.
Safety & Compliance - Uphold infection‑prevention standards, privacy requirements, and Meritus Health values in all interactions.
Age-Specific Competency - Demonstrate competency in caring for patients across the lifespan within a specialty practice setting.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program required
Experience
Experience in an ambulatory or outpatient clinical setting preferred
Previous experience in Urology or another procedure‑based specialty preferred
Licensure/Certification
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
Current BLS (CPR) certification required, in compliance with Meritus Health policy
