Required: National Certification for Surgical Technologist


Preference to person with previous experience at a plastics surgery or aesthetic practice


Required experience:


•Plastic Surgery: 1 year


  • Preparation of supplies
.• Sterilization of equipment.


  • Cleaning of the operating room.
  • Checks work order for all equipment.
RESPONSIBILTIES


1. Opening of sterile packs, instruments and supplies, assuring that a sterile environment is maintained throughout the procedure.


2. Preparing set-up of all surgical cases.


3. Reporting and troubleshooting of all broken or defective supplies or equipment.


4. Checking and supplying operating room at the end of the scheduled cases.


5. Maintaining services from sales representatives to provide equipment and supplies within budget.


6. Organizing supplies and equipment in a space efficient manner.


7. Maintains equipment manual and updates in an ongoing manner.


8. Provides in-service to staff on sterile technique, equipment, and procedures in the operating room.


9. Maintains account sheet for all equipment.


10. Checks surgeon's preference card is current and accessible.


11. Provides emotional support for the patient.


12. Assists in reviewing all policies and procedures on a yearly basis.


13. Attends update and continuing education courses relevant to specialty area.


14. Maintains a safe environment for treating the surgical patient, including safeguards to protect the patient from cross infection.


15. Obtains current basic CPR card. Attends yearly in-service on fire safety, infection control, and unit meetings.


16. Assists in implementation of quality assurance program.


17. Attends update and continuing education courses relevant to specialty area.


18. Maintains a safe environment for treating the surgical patient, including safeguards to protect the patient from cross infection.


19. Obtains current basic CPR card. Attends yearly in-service on fire safety, infection control, and unit meetings.


20. Assists in implementation of quality assurance program.


21. Assist Surgeon with Pre/ Post Operative Care.


22. Keeps Inventory of all exam rooms
