- Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (40 hours/week)
- Rotating Shifts: 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM | 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Monday – Friday
- Rotating weekends required
- Weekday call and holiday call required
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical services within a fast-paced acute care operating room environment. This role is responsible for assisting surgeons and nursing staff during a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile field and ensuring optimal patient safety and care standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up the operating room with surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies
- Maintain sterile technique in accordance with hospital policies and AORN standards
- Perform scrub duties across multiple surgical specialties
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures
- Assist with retractors, suturing materials, and surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments)
- Ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Prepare, handle, and transport surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
- Assist with patient positioning, transport, and intraoperative support
- Support application of surgical dressings and postoperative activities
- Operate sterilization equipment and follow sterilization protocols
- Prepare and label medications under supervision of the RN and surgeon
- Assist in patient transfer to recovery areas
- Support OR turnover, cleaning, and restocking between procedures
- Maintain patient safety, privacy, and dignity at all times
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and collaborative initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (civilian or military)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA (active and in good standing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control practices
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
Preferred Qualifications
- Orthopedic (Ortho) surgical experience
- Experience in a multi-specialty operating room environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Certifications Required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
