Position Summary:

The Endosocpy Department is open Monday - Friday. 4 10- hour shifts. Variable day off. Call is required approximately every 7th weekend ( Friday night, Saturday and Sunday). Rotating Holiday Call.

The Endoscopy Department provides comprehensive services to both inpatient and outpatient populations. Our team performs a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including colonoscopies and esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGDs), as well as advanced interventions such as Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM), Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and other specialized myotomy procedures.

Our department supports the continuum of care by addressing a wide variety of gastrointestinal conditions through both routine and complex procedures.

The CST or trained Endoscopy Technician, job dejob

  • Assist doctors and nurses during endoscopic procedures. This includes, passing devices, equipment, and collecting biopsies, room set- up and other duties as required.

  • Prepares and maintains equipment.

  • Clean and disinfect scopes and accessories

  • Manage inventory and supplies.

  • Adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.

  • Troubleshoots equipment issues.

Position Qualification:

Certification is a requirement for employment in the State of Tennessee as a surgical technologist, a graduate of an CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program or an U.S. military surgical technology program.

  • Certification as an Endoscopy Technician or Certified Surgical Technician preferred but will train the right person. If no experience in an Endoscopy Setting, must complete the ASGE GI Tech Course.

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.

  • Strong communication skills and teamwork skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Basic support (BLS) certification.

  • Proficiency in maintaining medical equipment.

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and anatomy.

  • Must be able to arrive to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call.
