SIGN-ON BONUS: Up to $15,000.00 (prorated based on hours worked per week) with a 2 year commitment. External and internal eligible candidates only.
SCHEDULE: Full time (36 hours per week), night shift from 7pm-7:30am, up to every 3rd weekend (approximately 3-4 per year), up to 2-3 weekends on-call 12-hour shifts per every 6 weeks, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday.
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides supportive nursing care to selected patients under direction and supervision of the professional nurse; facilitates patient care by meeting specific nursing care requirements and assists in performance of patient care measures; informs the registered nurse of any signs, symptoms of untoward responses.
ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICTIONS:
Candidates must meet one of the following categories:
Category 1:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Completion of a surgical technologist program sponsored by an entity holding nationally recognized institutional or programmatic accreditation
· Must maintain a Surgical Technologist certification from an accredited certification program within six months of hire immediately following successful completion of a Surgical Technology Program
Category 2:
· Completion of a U.S. military training program in Surgical Technology through the Army, Navy, or Air Force
Category 3:
· Previously employed as a Surgical Technologist at a Penn Medicine healthcare facility on or before December 29, 2020, OR
· Employed in a surgical technologist role at another healthcare facility as the primary function at any time during the two years prior to December 29, 2020.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Basic Life Support Certification
