An ambitious and dedicated Surgical Tech II is sought after to join our team at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. This is an amazing opportunity to work in an innovative facility, where your skills and expertise will contribute to outstanding outcomes for our pediatric patients.

Job Responsibilities

As a Surgical Tech II, you will have an important position in our surgical team. You will work with a Registered Nurse to safely and effectively perform invasive surgical procedures.

  • Facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
  • Ensuring the operating room environment is safe and that all equipment functions accurately.
  • Improving patient safety by implementing sterile and aseptic techniques.
  • Combining knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and the use of tools and technologies to support therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
  • Potential to service as a lead surgical technologist responsible for a service line, if required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Education

  • High School Diploma (Minimum)
  • Completion of accredited surgical technologist program (minimum)

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Preferred 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced experience in either cardiac, neurosurgery, orthopedics, or general surgical procedures (Minimum).
  • Prior experience caring for patients in a pediatric trauma facility (Preferred).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Providers (AHA) (Minimum).
  • National Certification of Surgical Technology (Minimum).

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team to efficiently implement surgical procedures.
  • Strong determination to achieve detailed execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dedication to maintaining a rigorously safe and sterile operating environment.

The current salary range for this position is $33.00 to $44.99

A candidate's placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
