Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Surgical Technologist II for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity surgical environment alongside experienced surgeons and nurses, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties. The Surgical Technologist will play a key role in maintaining sterile technique, anticipating surgical team needs, and ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Establish and maintain a sterile field, ensuring all members of the surgical team adhere to aseptic technique.
- Demonstrate correct and safe instrumentation passing and handling.
- Participate in surgical counts (sponges, needles, and instruments) in accordance with policy.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards related to patient safety and quality care.
- Support educational and professional development activities within the department.
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Must hold a current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, or have completed an approved military program in surgical technology.
Experience
- No prior experience required; new graduates welcome.
Certifications/Licenses
- Certification in Surgical Technology required.
- AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
- Must maintain registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
