Job Description
A Surgical Technologist's job involves assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and handing instruments. They also help prepare patients for surgery, maintain a sterile environment, and may assist with patient monitoring and post-operative care.

Qualifications
Education: High School graduate required. Graduate of approved Surgical Technology Program. Eligible to register as a Surgical Technologist with the VA Department of Health Professions required. Provide to the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor one of the two following documents: A current credential as a certified surgical technologist; or Successful completion of a surgical technologist training program during the applicant's service as a member any branch of the armed forces of the United States.
Experience: None required.
Licensure/Certification: AHA-BLS-HCP certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Other: Satisfactory completion of structured orientation program.
