Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Responsibilities: Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.| Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.| Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.| Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.| Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
Contingent requirements:
Minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule period
Maximum of 96 hours prescheduled in a 6-week period
Shifts are 12 hours in length
Minimum of 2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday 1500 - Monday 0730)
Must work at least 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
Summer: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day
Winter: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year's Day
Will also work one of the following shifts: Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, or the Day after Christmas
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
BLS course required.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, and one of the following is required
Military service trained as a Surgical Technologist
LPN trained as a Surgical Technologist
Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
