QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical Technology program or completion of a formal U.S. military Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician training program.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C), or military Surgical Technician certification.
  • Minimum one year of Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician experience after graduation.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare operating rooms for ENT surgical procedures.
  • Maintain sterile technique and surgical fields throughout procedures.
  • Scrub and assist surgeons during ENT and minor surgical procedures.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and assist with preoperative and postoperative care.
  • Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.
  • Remove sutures, staples, nasal packing, splints, and simple dressings as directed.
  • Perform cerumen (ear wax) removal and other routine ENT clinical procedures.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Collect and transport laboratory specimens.
  • Document patient care in the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with patient education and clinic operations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
