Must have ortho experience Operating room surgical technician is an integral member of the multidisciplinary surgical team. The surgical technician acts as a scrub person, prepares and handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. He/She has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/She works collaboratively with other team members to assure quality patient care during the operative procedure. The surgical technician functions under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the on-call schedule for afterhours urgent/ emergent surgical cases, unless otherwise indicated.
