Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday


Location: 225 Clearfield Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23462


As a Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech), you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Valid BLS Certification
  • Surgical technologist / Scrub Tech experience: 2 years
  • ARRT // CST Certification (Preferred)


Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
  • Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
  • Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
  • Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
  • Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
  • Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
  • May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
  • Ensures effective communication with physicians
  • Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes


Skills:

  • Proven working experience as a surgical technologist
  • Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
  • Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
  • Working knowledge of interventional equipment


Working conditions:

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
