As a Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech), you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Valid BLS Certification
- Surgical technologist / Scrub Tech experience: 2 years
- ARRT // CST Certification (Preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
- Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
- Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
- Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
- Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
- Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
- May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
- Ensures effective communication with physicians
- Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes
Skills:
- Proven working experience as a surgical technologist
- Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
- Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
- Working knowledge of interventional equipment
Working conditions:
Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
