Faculty members serve multiple roles as teachers, mentors, colleagues, and scholars. Full-time faculty are expected not only to excel in classroom instruction but also to fulfill various responsibilities as active members of the college and the northwest Arkansas community.
This position will also serve as the Program Director for the Surgical Technology program. While serving in this Program Director role, some teaching duties will be released so that administrative duties can be performed. Release time is approved by the Dean and follows all college policies and procedures.
Program Director duties may involve curriculum development, faculty supervision, program accreditation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Program Director collaborates with faculty, staff, and industry partners to provide high-quality education and training for students pursuing careers as surgical technologist. This Program Director oversees the recruitment and retention of students, guides clinical placement partnerships, and maintains program effectiveness through ongoing evaluation and improvement.
Administrative release assignments are not guaranteed. As the Surgical Technology program grows, and additional faculty are hired, the release time to perform Program Director duties may change.

An activity or assignment is not considered service to the college if the faculty member receives a stipend, release time, or other additional payment or benefit for their participation. However, reimbursement for, or payment of, incurred travel/business expenses, pursuant to College policy and/or Federal or State regulation, is allowed.
Other duties as assigned
Faculty teaching in some academic areas may have other duties assigned based on the requirements for courses, degrees, certificates, and accrediting bodies.

Rate of pay: determined by faculty scale placement (education and years of experience)

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is an experienced Surgical Technology professional with strong leadership skills, a commitment to student success, and a passion for advancing the field of laboratory science. This individual will oversee the recruitment and retention of students, guide clinical placement partnerships, and maintain program effectiveness through ongoing evaluation and improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
