Surveillance Investigator

Location: Hybrid/On-Site – Howell, Michigan

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Conduct vehicular surveillance on individuals involved in insurance claims relating to liability, uninsured motorist, disability, etc.
• Utilize professional-grade videographic devices to document any and all activity observed on-site and on behalf of the subject
• Be diligent in monitoring activity in the surrounding area from your vehicle for extended periods 
• Review claim documents and available records for investigative leads
• Take detailed notes regarding surveillance efforts to be used for compilation in a written report
• Utilize dictation/Dictaphone technology to dictate efforts into a written report
• Identify and monitor subjects’ social media profiles for investigative leads
• Be well-organized with strong internet skills
• Have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and potentially holidays
• Be an individual our team can rely on for punctuality
• Reside in the state of Michigan, preferably within the southeast Michigan area

Legal Qualifications:

• All applicants must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Surveillance Investigators at Data Surveys, Inc. are required to utilize their own personal vehicles for any necessary road travel throughout the week. Your vehicle needs to be properly registered, insured and reliable. Data Surveys, Inc. will provide a gas card to be used for travel relating to surveillance efforts.

• Percentage-based compensation dependent applicable hours worked each week
• This is a hybrid position, meaning you will report to our home office located in Howell, Michigan weekly but be able to depart from your residence to travel to surveillance sites
