Survey Crew Chief

Schedule: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Duration: 12-month contract-to-hire

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to support a large highway design project. This is a hands-on, outdoor role for a dependable professional who can lead survey operations safely and efficiently while collaborating with office and field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily with field coordinators, project managers, and office staff
  • Supervise survey crew members and ensure quality data collection
  • Perform daily data uploads/downloads and maintain survey equipment
  • Assist with field work as needed, including equipment transport and site preparation
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives involving evolving survey technology

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of onsite survey experience required
  • Experience using robotic total stations and GPS equipment (SHA experience preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency with Trimble or similar survey equipment, including GPS, robotics, total stations, levels, and data collectors
  • Ability to work independently while also leading a crew
  • Strong safety mindset and reliability in all weather conditions
  • Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD preferred but not required
  • MicroStation experience is a plus

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WINDSOR MILL, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr.
