Job Summary
Local company seeking an experienced Surveyor / Survey Crew Chief to support a wide range of field survey and land development projects. This role works closely with a Professional Land Surveyor and engineering team to successfully execute survey operations across commercial, governmental, industrial, institutional, recreational, residential, and retail projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Plot of Highways, Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Staking
- Maintain accurate field notes and ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures
- Organize and manage both field and office project materials
- Supervise survey crew members and ensure safe, efficient field operations
- Maintain survey equipment and vehicles in optimal working condition
- Train and mentor junior team members to promote safety and productivity
Core Competencies
- Proficiency with Trimble and Leica GPS systems
- Experience with Trimble Robotic Total Station (S6), Trimble (TSC3), and TDS Ranger data collectors
- Strong construction layout skills and ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surveyor / Survey Crew Chief
- Minimum 5 years of experience within a survey operation
- Strong knowledge of survey practices and applications related to site layout and design
- Valid driver’s license required
