Summary

Perform necessary surveying duties such as creating or using field notes and calculations to obtain field survey data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Sets up and operates equipment

  2. Reads and surveys maps and construction plans

  3. Locates right of ways

  4. Performs construction staking as required

  5. Assists in setting grades for drainage culverts and correcting drainage problems

  6. Assists in taking field notes, performs calculations and documents work in field notes as needed

  7. Performs Survey Party Chief duties as needed

  8. Services and maintains equipment and supplies

  9. Trains and instructs subordinate survey personnel

  10. Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Two (2) or more years of surveying or construction experience.

Knowledge of survey instruments and procedures or construction standards.

Must have basic knowledge of trigonometry, geometry and math.

Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to stoop, bend, climb, pull and push.
