Position Summary
The Survey Crew Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating field survey crews to ensure accurate data collection for construction, land development, and engineering projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead daily operations of survey crew members
- Conduct field surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction staking
- Operate and oversee use of survey equipment (GPS, total stations, data collectors)
- Ensure accuracy and quality of collected data
- Read and interpret plans, maps, and legal descriptions
- Maintain field notes, reports, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Train and mentor crew members
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of land surveying experience (crew chief or supervisory role preferred)
- Strong knowledge of survey equipment and software
- Ability to read construction plans and legal descriptions
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay:$25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
