Land Survey Instrument Operator

Woburn, MA | Full-Time | Field-Based | $25–$35/hour

Allen & Major Associates is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Land Survey Technician / Survey Instrument Operator to join our Woburn team.

You'll work on public and private land development and engineering survey projects, including boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, existing conditions, construction support and research. You'll work alongside experienced survey professionals while using modern robotic total stations, GPS/RTK equipment, data collectors and differential levels.

What You'll Do

  • Perform boundary, existing conditions, as-built, ALTA/NSPS and construction survey work
  • Set up and operate robotic and conventional total stations
  • Operate GPS/RTK equipment, data collectors and differential levels
  • Collect accurate field data and maintain clear field notes and sketches
  • Support survey crews and work independently when needed
  • Assist with survey equipment and company vehicle maintenance
  • Communicate with office staff to support efficient project completion
  • Represent A&M professionally with clients and the public

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working on land surveying field crews
  • Experience with total stations, GPS/RTK equipment and data collectors
  • Familiarity with boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic or construction surveys
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate field work
  • Ability to work outdoors and start workdays early
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and occasionally overnight
