Description
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and perform all types of land surveys, including but not limited to: construction staking, as-builts, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic, boundary, subdivision, and NCDOT location surveys.
Supervise and motivate the survey crew to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
Perform survey computations and assist with data collection.
Train and mentor junior survey technicians in equipment use, field procedures, and safety protocols.
Maintain a high standard of accuracy and productivity in all survey work.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all survey equipment.
Provide support in technical field tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of survey experience.
NC Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred.
Proficient with GPS, RTK, VRS, and robotic total station equipment.
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a strong plus.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and maps.
Skilled in making accurate field calculations and job planning.
Strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Physically able to walk rough terrain, stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform field work in various weather conditions.
Ability to travel as needed, including overnight stays
