    Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and perform all types of land surveys, including but not limited to: construction staking, as-builts, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic, boundary, subdivision, and NCDOT location surveys.
    • Supervise and motivate the survey crew to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
    • Perform survey computations and assist with data collection.
    • Train and mentor junior survey technicians in equipment use, field procedures, and safety protocols.
    • Maintain a high standard of accuracy and productivity in all survey work.
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients.
    • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all survey equipment.
    • Provide support in technical field tasks as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus.
    • Minimum of 5 years of survey experience.
    • NC Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred.
    • Proficient with GPS, RTK, VRS, and robotic total station equipment.
    • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a strong plus.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and maps.
    • Skilled in making accurate field calculations and job planning.
    • Strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Physically able to walk rough terrain, stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform field work in various weather conditions.
    • Ability to travel as needed, including overnight stays
