Position Summary:

The Survey Project CAD Technician''s primary function is the production of survey computations, work maps and plats. Typical projects will include plot plans, mortgage surveys, boundary plats, grading plans, and topographic surveys. Some field work may be required with this position. You will be responsible for meeting project schedules as assigned by your supervisor. This is a mid-level position for this type of job description.

Job Responsibilities:

  • All Cadd information shall be produced utilizing current KBJW Cadd Standards
  • Post-survey field data processing
  • Create surface models and generate elevation contours from field collected point data
  • Create mapping from field collected point data to meet the client/job specific requirements
  • Preparation and set-up off survey data for Survey Crews
  • Deed and reference map plotting
  • Calculations for construction layout, as-built surveys and/ or sketches
  • Grade sheet preparation (cut sheets)
  • ALTA/NSPS land title survey, subdivision plats, lot consolidations
  • Preparation of metes & bounds descriptions
  • Drafting of FEMA Elevation certificates
  • Assist Staff Survey Technicians with their questions and provide limited guidance with their work product
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 4yearsof progressive experience in AutoCAD (or equivalent college level course credits or relevant subject certifications). Experience with Carlson Software is Experience with Trimble Business Center is desirable
  • Field experience is preferred
  • General knowledge of surveying equipment, practices, and principles
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics through algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Great attitude and a desire to grow professionally

Work Requirements:

  • Must be aware of, comply with and enforce established Company safety standards
  • May require the ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk and manipulate (carry, lift, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds
  • Ability to walk construction job sites and climb ladders is necessary
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity,including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate technical equipment, read technical information and to analyze complex data
  • Occasional travel to off-site locations to perform work and work-related errands or to attend meetings may be required
