Survey Technician
Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a talented Survey Technician to join our Civil Engineering Group at our Denver, Colorado office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, primarily within the Rocky Mountain Region.
You'll be involved in conducting survey work that requires sound judgment and expertise in standard survey techniques, procedures, and criteria. Each project presents unique challenges, providing opportunities for you to learn, grow, and develop your project management skills. You will represent Martin/Martin in project meetings and hone your communication skills to manage the flow of survey information effectively.
Responsibilities
- Reduce field notes, computes and close traverses, and monitor standards of precision.
- Prepare worksheets and cut sheets.
- Research deeds, easements, and utilities.
- Prepare CAD drawings of field surveys.
- Prepare ALTA/ACSM Land title surveys/Boundary surveys.
- May train other Survey Technicians based on level of experience.
- Prepare Subdivision Plats.
- Maintain Survey Department files and archives.
- Assist in the field as Instrument Person or Crew Chief.
- Write legal descriptions and create exhibits
Requirements
Required
- Graduation from High School or GED equivalent
- Valid Colorado Driver's License and violation record acceptable to the company and its vehicle insurance carrier
- Minimum 2 years of relevant survey experience
- Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work in and throughout the Denver area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
- CAD drafting or education equivalent
Desired
- Land Surveyor Intern (LSI)
- Two years of field experience.
- Prior experience working in survey.
- Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in survey or civil engineering technology.
Working Conditions, Skills, and Abilities
This position is primarily physical in nature and is continually exposed to outside weather, completing a wide range of activities summarized herein. The following abilities are required:
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
- Walk, kneel, crawl, stoop, bend, and remain stationary for long periods of time
- Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
- Identify color
- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Compensation
The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
- Base Salary: This is a non-exempt (overtime eligible) position that is paid hourly at $28.85 - $46.15 per hour. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $60,000 to $96,000 annually.
- Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin's annual base salary increase review process.
- Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.
