Here's The Role

The LCRA Surveying, GIS and Technical Services (SGTS) department seeks a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS). In this role, you will coordinate with project teams to define scopes and budgets for professional surveying services supporting capital electric utility projects. You will lead a survey production team and manage the review, feedback, and approval process for survey and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) deliverables from contractors. We are looking for a responsible, meticulous, and forward-looking professional who understands customer needs, adopts suitable technology, and applies professional criteria and surveying/SUE standards to produce quality results.   • This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days a week in office in Austin, Texas!

How You'll Contribute

  • Plan, perform, and take full responsibility for moderately complex land surveys. Estimate project costs and schedules while developing scope, schedules, and budgets. Represent our department in project meetings and support safe survey operations.
  • Research previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to acquire data. Analyze and interpret field data and record boundary information to determine the location of real property boundaries. Prepare, seal, and certify surveys & legal descriptions for land acquisition.
  • Identify actual and potential problems, then investigate and determine appropriate solutions. Deliver reports and presentations to technical and non-technical collaborators.
  • Perform computer-aided drafting to refine maps from parcel information and field data for boundary and easement analysis, fee and easement acquisition surveys, topographic drawings, final plats, and legal descriptions. Prepare and perpetuate maps, records plats, field note records, easements, and real property descriptions.
  • Plan, process, and publish survey control networks for use by LCRA. Establish effective working relationships with internal and external collaborators, representing LCRA on task forces and within the community.
  • Prepare statements-of-work, track schedules, and deliver quality assurance on survey and SUE outputs.

How You're Qualified

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
  • Driver's license

How You'll Stand Out

  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas
  • Experience with SUE standards
  • Surveyors licensed in states other than Texas need to acquire a Registered Professional Land Surveyor license for Texas within the timeframe established by management.
