PBSGC is looking for a dynamic person to join our team as a Surveyor that willing to work in the Louisianan area. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain survey vessels while performing hydrographic surveys on the Mississippi River. Competitive pay commensurate with experience and an outstanding benefit package which includes health, wellness, dental, vision, Rx, life insurance, use of company vehicle, and 401k plan including employer match.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for calibrating GPS, ladder sensor, topographic and hydrographic sounding devices to ensure accurate positioning of dredge and to obtain accurate surveys.Communicates with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to obtain dredging orders and specific information to complete dredging assignments.Responsible for assigned assets including vessels, barges, equipment and materials.Thorough knowledge of the project plans and specifications.Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.Preform daily reports and additional required written communication.Support and encourage team member's learning and development.QualificationsExperience with working in a marine environment on the inland waterway and especially the Mississippi River is not required but beneficial.Minimum 3 years' hydrographical surveying experience. Must maintain the highest level of safety in all aspects of the job.Must possess excellent technical skills, as well as good oral and written communication skills.
