Position Summary:

Responsible for creating, crafting, and presenting the best Sushi experience for every guest by embracing the passion for food, guests and the experience that our restaurant exemplifies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promotes superior guest service.
• Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
• Responsible for supplying and maintaining your own knives.
• Be proactive in assisting other sushi chefs by taking orders from guests.
• Improve your skills as a sushi chef by practicing and/or studying (books, internet, dine out).
• Follow orders from your leadership.
• Be a leader when working at middle section.
• Check the quality of fish and other materials when they are delivered to the restaurant.
• Check the quality of fish and other materials before preparing dish.
• Be proactive with providing an engaging and professional guest experience.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
• 3 years' experience prepping and preparing Sushi in a high-volume restaurant.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
• Valid Food Handler's card.
• Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
• Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
