Responsibilities:- Makes sushi boxes.
- Setup and breakdown of the sushi bar area.
- Maintains a clean and organized workstation
- Prepares ingredients for the sushi bar including breaking down and portioning of tuna loins, Hamachi loins and salmon.
- Makes all cuts of fish loin and fillets which are used in sushi making.
- Assists the executive sushi chef as directed.
- Reads tickets and prepares customer orders.
- Presents and plates excellent food for service.
- Stores and keeps track of sushi inventory items.
- Cleans and sanitizes work area.
- Interacts with guests in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with all co-workers.
- Follows work schedule.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:- 1+ years experience in a sushi bar environment as a Sushi Chef.
- Excellent knife skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly and show initiative.
- Good time management and communication skills.
- Understanding of NYC health department codes.
- Willing to learn and retain knowledge from Chef
- Willing to work nights and weekends..
