Overview:
A luxury hospitality property in Northern Michigan is seeking an exceptional temporary chef to join the team immediately for an initial six-week contract beginning no later than August 1.
This is a great opportunity for a talented culinary professional to contribute during the resort's soft-launch phase, helping refine menus, elevate guest experiences, and support the development of a luxury food and beverage program before the retreat opens more broadly.
The setting is intimate, highly curated, and hospitality-driven, requiring a chef who is equally comfortable creating memorable dining experiences, adapting to evolving service needs, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and discretion.
The ideal candidate has experience in luxury hospitality. They understand how to read a room, anticipate guest needs, and know when to engage and when to remain in the background. Beyond strong culinary execution, they bring creativity, flexibility, and an appreciation for thoughtful hospitality.
This is a live-in opportunity with private accommodations provided. While the initial engagement is approximately six weeks, there is potential for the role to evolve into a longer-term opportunity for an exceptional candidate.
Candidates should expect a dynamic schedule averaging approximately 50–60 hours per week, with flexibility required based on guest activity and operational needs. Additional details regarding culinary style, programming, scheduling, and the property's long-term vision will be shared throughout the interview process.
