The Snoqualmie Valley School District is now accepting applications for Substitute and Permanent Bus Drivers for the 2026-27 school year.

Snoqualmie Valley School District provides paid training.Once training is completed, beginning substitute drivers earn $34.89 an hour. New drivers are typically hired into substitute driver roles, after which opportunities can turn into permanent positions; the starting hourly wage for a regular route is $36.73. SVSD also offers up to $2,500 as a starting incentive to newly-hired drivers, upon completing the program requirements and transporting students.

Candidates must have good driving skills and an excellent driving record. This is a great opportunity to earn supplemental income that is close to home.

The District will provide necessary training, including Commercial Driver License (CDL), for all new hires. Applicants will be contacted with more information after submission of a completed application.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum five (5) years of driving experience
• Good driving record free of all major violations such as DUI, negligent driving and limited number of minor violations as defined in WAC 180-20-215. A recent Department of Licensing abstract will be required and can be obtained from any Dept of Licensing office or online at http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/requestyourrecord.html.

Substitute Bus Driver Wage: $34.89 per hour (2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule)

Regular Bus Driver with Route Wage: $36.73 - $39.43 per hour (2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule)

Benefit Eligibility for Regular Bus Driver with Route:

• Insurance: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance if the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year.*
• Retirement Plans: This position is eligible a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
• Paid Holidays: This position is eligible for up to 12 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
• Paid Time Off: Employees working less than 12 months per year earn 7 days' worth of vacation pay per year and accrue 1 day of sick leave per month. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation and sick leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.

Benefit Eligibility for Substitute Bus Driver:

• Insurance: Substitutes are not eligible for insurance unless they have worked or are anticipated to work at least 630 hours in a school year at which point they will become eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.*
• Retirement Plans: This position is eligible a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
• Paid Holidays: This position is not eligible for paid holidays.
• Paid Time Off: This position is not eligible for paid time off.
• Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more for SVSD in a school year, including substitute work, is eligible for benefits. Eligibility will be re-established at the start of each school year.
