Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education: Less than high school education.
Experience (WSI): Must be able to swim. Previous experience conducting swim lessons is preferred, but not required.
Experience (HWSI): Previous swimming or water safety instructor experience required. Minimum of one (1) full season of Learn-to-Swim instructional experience required.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must be able to pass an in-house training course. Training must be taken through the Township. To retain certification, must teach one (1) session within two (2) years.
Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and meet the driver safety policy requirements.
Age Requirement (WSI): Must be 16 years of age or older by June 1, 2026.
Age Requirement (HWSI): Must be 17 years of age or older by June 1, 2026.
Scheduling Demands: Must be able to work Learn-to-Swim lessons and private lessons from June to August.
Pre-employment Requirements: Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check, and Social Security Number verification check.
Computer Skills: Computer proficiency in MS Office preferred.
Safety-Sensitive: This position is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing.
