As a swim instructor, you need thorough knowledge and application of swimming and water safety skills. Thorough knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills. An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures. Leadership and public relations skills. Communication skills. Decision-making skills.
Education: Minimum two years high school education.
Experience: Minimum one year lifeguard experience preferred. Previous swim lesson instruction preferred.
Licensure/Certification: WSI Certification or Obtain within 90 days of hire date American Heart Association BLSCertification (CPR/AED, First Aid) Lifeguard Certification through American Red Cross or otherapproved certifying body.
Other: Previous work with children and adult private lessons and children group lessons.
