We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Swimming Teacher s to join our leisure centre team in a permanent role, working up to 23.25 hours per week across the following sessions:
We welcome applications from qualified Level 2 Swim Teachers, current Level 1 teachers working towards Level 2, and individuals passionate about beginning their career in swim teaching. Our aim is to deliver a safe, inclusive, high quality swimming lesson programme for all ages and abilities. We would be willing to consider splitting the role for the right candidate, offering flexible working arrangements where possible. This makes the post suitable for applicants seeking fewer hours or a better work-life balance, while still being part of a supportive and committed leisure services team.
As a permanent Swimming Teacher with North Yorkshire Council's Leisure Services, you will plan, deliver, and evaluate swimming lessons, creating a positive and engaging learning environment. You will support participants to build water confidence, improve safety awareness, and develop technical swimming skills-from non swimmers to advanced levels-while providing excellent customer care and progress feedback. All work must follow North Yorkshire Council policies and procedures.
