Join a leading, stable, and progressively growing pork production company in Indiana. Our client is seeking a dedicated Swine Veterinarian to head their Animal Health and Welfare initiatives, playing a crucial role in the veterinary support of their farrow-to-finish operations.
THE ROLE:
* Develop and implement health improvement plans across all sites within your region to enhance overall animal health.
* Lead and oversee medication and vaccination programs for farrow-to-finish operations.
* Conduct regular farm visits to monitor animal health status and welfare directly.
* Manage diagnostic processes, including ordering and monitoring, to ensure optimal animal health.
* Oversee and manage budget forecasts for veterinary services, medications, and vaccinations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and fiscal responsibility.
* Sustain and enhance relationships with pharmaceutical companies to ensure the best veterinary practices and supplies.
* Create and maintain training modules and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for animal health and care.
* Coordinate and lead bio-security measures to maintain high standards of farm hygiene and disease prevention.
* Deliver hands-on training to the production team, ensuring best practices in animal health and welfare are followed.
* Engage with and represent the company in industry animal care groups, staying ahead of industry standards and practices.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
* A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* Strong multitasking abilities with a collaborative spirit, capable of working effectively within a team.
* A commitment to upholding and surpassing industry standards in animal care and welfare.
TRAVEL:
Expect overnight travel approximately one week per month to oversee and support regional operations.
