Swiss CNC Machinist Setup Expert

Nelson Numeric is a Sussek Machine Company, located in Bloomington, MN

We are looking for an experienced CNC Swiss Setup Machinist -Expert to independently set up, adjust, and operate multi-axis CNC Swiss machines

. In this role, you will produce tight-tolerance aerospace components from exotic alloys, manage program prove-outs, and troubleshoot machining processes to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency

. If you excel at reading complex blueprints, editing G & M codes, and supporting continuous improvement, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation: Independently set up, adjust, and operate a variety of multi-axis CNC Swiss machines to meet production and quality goals

  .

• Programming & Editing: Read, interpret, and edit multi-axis CNC code with live tooling, calculating and adjusting feeds and speeds for exotic alloys

  .

• Tooling & Maintenance: Adjust and replace tools as needed

  , pre-set tooling

  , and perform daily machine maintenance

  .

• Quality & Inspection: Collect and input SPC data using comparators, CMMs, Trimos, and precision gauges

  . Maintain accurate inventory counts

  .

• Collaboration & Training: Assist in process development

  , participate in pre-production and program prove-outs

  , and provide training and assistance to other operators

  .

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience specifically in Swiss turning

  .

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

  ; completion of a 2-year degree in Machining Technology or a CNC machining trade school is preferred

  .

• Technical Skills: Fluent in G & M codes

  with a strong grasp of blueprint reading, math for machinists, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  .

• Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs and stand for the duration of the shift

  .
