Job Title:CNC/Swiss machine Set-Up PersonReports to:Production ManagerShift:1st Shift, Monday-Thursday: 5:00am-3:00pm2nd Shift, Monday-Thursday: 3:00pm-1:00amGeneral Description:Set-up, operate, and trouble shoot CNC and SWISS style machines Responsibilities: (75% Set-Up; 15% Operating, 10% Other Duties)Set-up machines following layouts, blueprints and according to work orderFine tune machine until product passes first inspectionOperate machine if requiredRead, understand information in workmanship standardsFill out appropriate sections of work orderHandle, store, use micrometers, calipers, gages appropriatelyPerform and document Roberts inspection procedures when appropriate (SPC charts, work orders, move tickets)Identify nonconforming product or materialWash tools and return to storage areaOil, lube, clean and perform minor repairs as neededCommunicate with tool room or maintenance as required by supervisorAssist with training of Operator persons as neededKnow and follow safety standardsParticipate in corrective actions as requiredMove parts to next operationRemove scrap Operate pallet trucksProvide coaching and guidance to Set-Up Apprentice, as requiredOther duties as required Physical and Visual Activities:Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity-far/near depth perception, field of vision and accommodationPhysical Demands:Lift up to 75 poundsEnvironmental/Atmospheric Conditions:Indoor conditions, noise, hazards, odors, toxic conditions, dust, and periods of travel to support company's international facilities may be requiredJob Qualification Requirements:KnowledgeHigh school graduate or equivalent; reading, basic math, blueprint readingCNC or Swiss machine experienceTool design, machine repair helpfulExperience Training Period: 3 months to a year Machines, Tools, EquipmentCNC, Swiss, hand tools, measuring instruments, surface and bench grinders. Lathe, mill, and drill press experience helpful Information/DirectionsWritten and verbal work instructions, workmanship standards book (engineer drawings), quality control documentation (work orders, move tickets)**Start earning PTO from the first date of hire, 80 hrs.
