Let’s make parts run right the first time. At The Lee Company, we’re looking for someone who thrives on dialing in feeds and speeds, proving out code at the machine, and turning complex drawings into reliable, lights-out production.
Is this you?
Do you enjoy transforming part drawings and machine specifications into rock-solid operation plans and setup instructions?
Can you map sequences, tooling, and work offsets, then generate G- and M-code that runs cleanly?
Are you comfortable proving programs at the machine, validating methodology, and making quick corrections when something’s off?
Do you collaborate well with Tool Design and Manufacturing to refine tooling strategies and improve cost and quality?
Are you excited by robotic automation and the promise of dependable overnight runs?
What you’ll tackle
Program CNC lathes, Swiss lathes, and mills using current best practices; create new processes for continuous, unattended production.
Lay out operations, tooling, and setup details from prints, machine specs, and electronic control data using established standards.
Define speeds, feeds, toolpaths, and part positions to align with planned sequences.
Monitor and prove programs, operating equipment as needed to confirm part quality and process stability.
Revise programs to correct errors, adapt to new tooling, improve finishes, and reduce cycle times and cost.
Partner with Tool Design and Manufacturing to plan tooling for new work or modifications.
What you bring
High school diploma, GED, or trade school education; associate degree in manufacturing technologies preferred.
Working knowledge of metal cutting and CNC machining processes.
Ability to troubleshoot tool wear/failure, surface quality, and chip control issues.
Experience with CNC controls, precision measurement tools, hand tools, and specialized trade tools.
Comfort with computers for data entry and creating documentation.
Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills.
Fluency in reading blueprints; ability to proofread documents, train colleagues, and complete production paperwork.
