Swiss Machine Operator
Position Summary
The Swiss Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining Swiss-style CNC machines to produce precision-machined components that meet quality and production requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate Swiss-style CNC lathes and related equipment.
- Load raw materials and tooling into machines.
- Monitor machine performance and production output.
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Make tool offsets and minor program adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate with setup technicians or programmers.
- Maintain production records and inspection documentation.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
- Follow safety, quality, and company procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating CNC Swiss machines preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Optical comparators
- Basic understanding of CNC machining concepts, tooling, and offsets.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
