BASIC FUNCTION
This position resides in the Swiss/Turn-Mill Department and is responsible for all aspects related to the CNC Swiss-style screen machines and CNC Turn-Mills in compliance with Company policies and procedures. The primary focus of this position is to coordinate the fast paced daily floor operations as it pertains, but is not limited to, setups, inspection, tooling, inventory, maintenance, 6S sustainability, and general duties as needed to meet the scheduled workload.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for the timely and successful setup of equipment in the Swiss/Turn-Mill department for the manufacture of medical components.
2. Suggest changes and/or modifications to new or existing jobs, seeking to improve run rate, quality, and efficiency (programs, tooling, etc.).
3. Stage work orders at the appropriate machines, designating operators for said jobs and providing the necessary job-related information to operators.
4. Utilizes dispatch reports to monitor setups, run times, and helps resolve any issues or discrepancies as they arise.
5. Assists Swiss/Turn-Mill setup operators during regular setups as needed.
6. Monitors and maintains a healthy and updated tool inventory needed to complete scheduled work orders.
7. Works with other department leaders to achieve on time delivery of quality products to customers.
8. Trains operators within the department to maintain a capable knowledge and efficient team.
9. When needed, will perform the duties of Swiss/Turn-Mill Operators.
10. Maintains the assigned floor space that belongs to the department in a clean and organized fashion.
11. Actively participates in Company 6S/Lean initiatives.
12. Recommends improvements to the production process to ensure quality control. This also includes recommending tooling improvements to enhance current processes.
13. Works independently and/or within a team on special/non-recurring ongoing projects - occasionally includes assisting in the completion of Validation/equipment qualification 'OQ' and/or performing Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies for gages and fixture setups.
14. Acts as a steward of the company brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company"s core values, approach and high standards of excellence in all internal and external interactions.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary: $62k - $95k



Education:
High School Degree or equivalent related business experience preferred.

Experience & Expertise:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of hands-on experience in Swiss-style machines. Experience with Citizen machines preferred, Turn-Mill experience a plus.
- Capable of setting up/operating Swiss/Turn-Mill jobs to layouts supplied. Ability to write programs for simple parts.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints and specifications. Knowledge of sampling and inspection plans.
- Capable of identifying and selecting the correct tooling for specific materials and/or processes.
- Working knowledge of G-codes and standard controls (Fanuc a plus).
- Capable of performing simple math calculations, as well as basic geometry.
- Familiarity with the utilization or measuring instruments - comparator, height gages/electronic height gages, caliper, thread plug gages, and other job-related hand tools.
- Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Prior exposure to Medical Device industry/working in compliance to ISO 13485 and/or ISO 9001 is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, deductive reasoning and problem solving skills.
- Proven record of success working in a fast-paced, high pressure, deadline-driven work environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Physical Demands:
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- May involve some repetitive motions.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling.
