This position resides in the Swiss/Turn-Mill Department and is responsible for all aspects related to the CNC Swiss-style screen machines and CNC Turn-Mills in compliance. The primary focus is the timely development of programs for the department as well as the creation of all related documentation needed to successfully setup, run, and maintain the equipment. Also, in compliance with Company policies and procedures, this position supervises the Swiss/Turn-Mill Department as it relates to personnel, training, tooling, maintenance, quality, and general duties as needed to meet the scheduled workload.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for the timely and successful programming of components to be manufactured in the Swiss/Turn-Mill Department using Part Maker and WinFlexIPS (Traub) softwares.
2. Responsible for assisting other programmers in best programming practices.
3. Provides estimated run times for newly requested components from the Company"s client base.
4. Develops layout/setup sheets, and updates digital attachments to control plans.
5. As needed, assists setup operators during first time run projects in the Swiss/Turn-Mill Department.
6. In accordance with scheduling needs, executes a schedule for in-process work orders, designating operations and resources.
7. Performs activities within the associated ERP system (Visual Manufacturing).
8. Assists in the management of department staff (i.e., hiring, corrective actions, training, firing, yearly reviews).
9. Seeks out improvements to processes, programs, and tooling to not only enhance existing processes, but also ensure quality control.
10. Actively participates in Company 6S/Lean initiatives by working with 6S facilitators to achieve the Company"s vision and goals both in department appearance and functionality.
11. Works independently and/or within a team on special/non-recurring ongoing projects.
12. Acts as a steward of the company brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company"s core values, approach, and high standards of excellence in all internal and external interactions.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary: $90k - $130k
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent business-related experience preferred.
Experience & Expertise:
- Minimum of eight (8) years hands-on experience in Swiss-style machines. Experience with Citizen machines preferred, Turn-Mill programming experience is a plus.
- Previous Management/Supervisor experience preferred.
- Proficiency in reading/interpreting blue prints, GD&T, and associated specifications. Knowledge of sampling and inspection plans.
- Capable of identifying the necessary tooling for specific materials and/or processes.
- Familiarity with the utilization or measuring instruments - comparator, height gages/electronic height gages, caliper, thread plug gages, and other job-related hand tools.
- Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Prior exposure to Medical Device industry/working in compliance to ISO 13485 and/or ISO 9001 is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, deductive reasoning and problem solving skills.
- Proven record of success working in a fast-paced, high pressure, deadline-driven work environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with various software programs; including Part Maker, CAD, CNC code editors, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
