For more than 70 years, Filger Manufacturing has supplied precision parts to aerospace, medical, and space programs. We’re adding a seasoned Swiss-Type CNC Setup Lead to own complex setups and production on STAR Swiss screw machines running Fanuc controls.
Your day starts at 6:00 a.m. You’ll plan tooling, complete intricate machine setups, dial in first articles to +/- .0002, and move seamlessly into steady production—making offsets and smart program tweaks to keep quality and throughput in harmony. Overtime is available depending on workload.
A day in the life
Study blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers to plan tooling and process flow
Independently perform complex setups on STAR Swiss CNC machines with Fanuc controls
Produce tight-tolerance components—down to +/- .0002 for demanding aerospace work
Take each job from setup and first article through full production runs
Apply offsets and minor program edits as conditions change
Occasionally program new parts (about 5–10 per year) using Mastercam or similar CAM
Inspect with micrometers, calipers, CMM equipment, gauges, and eye loupes
Troubleshoot machine, tooling, programming, and quality issues to root cause
Coach and support operators on STAR cells; help standardize best practices
Meet production goals without compromising quality; maintain a clean, organized area
