We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Switchboard Operator to join our busy, multi-specialty medical practice. If you enjoy helping people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent communication skills, apply! While previous medical office or call center experience is strongly preferred, we are happy to train the right candidate who has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
Answer a high volume of incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Transfer calls to the appropriate departments.
Take messages for nurses and process prescription refill requests.
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
Verify insurance eligibility and referrals.
Collect patient copayments.
Provide patients with required paperwork and forms.
Perform COVID screening according to office guidelines.
Assist with front desk operations and other administrative duties as needed.
Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Previous medical office, receptionist, phone operator, or call center experience is strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn multiple scheduling systems.
Pay Range: $11-$13/hour based on experience
