Performs the tasks of operating a telephone switchboard and providing information and directions to visitors. Announces fire drills and other emergency procedures and monitors and logs residents entering or leaving through the main facility entrance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Answers all incoming telephone calls and routes callers to correct extensions, as well as assisting in the completion of outgoing calls.
Pages staff and provides them with information.
Receives visitors and vendors, and routes them to requested individuals or locations.
Announce fire drills and may route fire or other emergency personnel.
Tracks and monitors, residents movements at the main entrance to assist in their safety.
Maintains roster of residents and provides information to assist them and their families/visitors.
Receives and relays messages to and from employees, doctors or supervisors.
Forwards mail or packages.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Attends required inservice training.
Does related work as required.
BASIC COMPETENCIES EDUCATION:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the job.
EXPERIENCE:
Some experience in the operation of a telecommunications devise.
