    Job Title: Switchboard/Registrar

    Department: Switchboard/Central Registration

    Status: PRN (as needed)

    Schedule: Variable

    Summary/Objective

    The Registrar/Switchboard Operator is responsible for customer service, registration of all ancillary departments and answering a multi-line phone.

    Essential Functions

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • Answers multi line phone and greets visitors for IMH.
    • Page doctors and employees.
    • Transfer calls.
    • Announces all Codes.
    • Calls on call employees for Home Health, Hospice and Home Care, as well as physicians.
    • Registers Emergency Room Patients.
    • Registers Outpatient Visits.
    • Registers Inpatient Visits.
    • Pre-registers Surgery Visits.
    • Registers all lab drop offs.

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent required, plus one year of office/clerical support or experience working with the public.

    Iroquois Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed hospital located in Watseka, Illinois. The hospital facility is comprised of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community. These services include but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care. The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, Saint Anne, IL and Kentland, IN. The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
