Switcher & Equipment Operator Columbia, South Carolina $21.00- $23.50 an hour, Full- time Givens is looking for a reliable, safety-conscious, and skilled Switcher & Equipment Operator to join our team in West Columbia. This is a hands-on, hybrid role where no two days look quite the same: one moment you're behind the wheel of a yard tractor staging trailers, the next you're maneuvering a forklift to load out finished goods. What You'll Do - Staging & Transport Operate the yard tractor to move finished goods between the shipping/receiving dock and the storage yard, keeping product flowing smoothly through the facility.
- Loading & Unloading Use forklifts to load, unload, and stack finished goods with precision and care, maximizing space while protecting product integrity.
- Safety & Maintenance Conduct daily pre-trip inspections on forklifts and the yard tractor, catching issues before they become problems and keeping every piece of equipment road- and warehouse-ready.
- Inventory Control Scan barcodes, check manifests, and verify that physical stock matches the paperwork — because accuracy here keeps the whole operation honest.
What You Bring - Switcher experience-- 2 years.
- Solid hands-on experience operating forklifts and yard tractors/spotters
- A genuine commitment to safety — for yourself, your team, and the product you're handling
- Strong attention to detail, especially when it comes to inventory accuracy
- Comfort working both indoors (warehouse) and outdoors (yard), in a fast-paced environment
- A team-player mindset and the reliability to show up and get it done
