Students must establish financial need according to Federal guidelines. The institution receives money from the Department of Education to fund the Federal Work Study program. Information on the three specific programs are listed below:The SI (Supplemental Instruction) Program seeks motivated, creative, high achieving students to serve as model students and to plan and lead voluntary, structured study sessions designed to empower students in "historically difficult" classes. SI Leaders must act in a professional and courteous manner in all job duties. Attend the targeted course (section specific), planning and facilitating SI review sessions weeklyAttend mandatory orientation and training meetingsComplete and submit all required weekly paperworkMeet with assigned SI Mentor for debrief sessionsComplete two peer observations, and assist with any special/seasonal projectsThe Embedded Tutoring Program seeks motivated, creative, high achieving students to serve as model students, support student engagement in course materials, and lead tutoring sessions for students enrolled in the in the supported course section. Embedded Tutors must act in a professional and courteous manner in all job duties. Attend the targeted course (section specific), planning and preparing materials for tutoring sessionsAttend mandatory orientation and training meetingsComplete and submit all required weekly paperworkMeet with assigned program Mentor for debrief sessionsComplete two peer observations, and assist with any special/seasonal projectsThe LRC Peer Tutoring Program seeks motivated, creative, high achieving students to serve as model students, support student engagement in course materials. and lead tutoring sessions both face-to-face and online within the Learning Resource Centers. The positions are part-time. Student workers may work up to 20 hours per week each semester and up to 28 hours per week during winter break, spring break, and summer.Applications which meet the required minimum qualifications are kept on file for 4-months from the date the District verifies the applicants qualifications.
