The person in this position will have a five day a week, part-time schedule as part of an office team. This is a benefits-eligible position. Eliot is a kindergarten through fifth grade school with a warm and inclusive environment where student''s needs are central to our work.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Completion of office work including but not limited to:
  • answering phones and assisting with receptionist tasks;
  • monitoring attendance through use of our School Dismissal Manager system;
  • mail and/or materials distribution to classrooms;
  • use of technology and Google suite;
  • Supervision of students at lunch and recess, with support from additional staff members;
  • Additional supervision and support of students as needed;
  • Provide classroom coverage as needed;
  • Supervise arrival of students and/or assist in the afternoon dismissal of students; and
  • Other office or school based duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Understanding of elementary school-aged children.
  • Ability to make decisions at the moment to ensure the safety of all students.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a supportive environment for all students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information regarding students and families.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand and work both indoors and outdoors for multiple hours.
  • Interest in and appreciation for elementary school students.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED and one year secretarial experience.
  • Experience in school environment preferred.
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents in active settings is a plus.

Compensation:

Please review the Unit D Contract and this page to learn more about employee compensation and benefits. Hourtaly Rate Range: AR1 $21.02-$23.30 (Sy26 rate)
