    Description

    Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
    Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph

    EMTAK is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator I to support a mission-critical Intelligence Community program. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Linux administrator who wants to work in a fast-paced, highly technical environment supporting enterprise infrastructure and mission operations.

    The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Linux systems administration, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the desire to expand their expertise while supporting secure enterprise environments.

    Ten (5) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited
    college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Certifications: Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAT Level II (SEC+, CCNA)

    Responsibilities

    • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in a classified environment.
    • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain servers, workstations, and laptops running CentOS, Rocky Linux, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
    • Perform hardware installation, system imaging, software deployments, and operating system upgrades.
    • Support secure data transfers and Customer Secure the Enterprise (STE) activities.
    • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and resolve hardware and software problems.
    • Create and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
    • Collaborate with systems engineers, network administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and customer representatives to ensure mission success.
    • Maintain compliance with security policies, configuration management, and operational procedures.

    Required Qualifications

    • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
    • 2+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience.
    • Experience administering Linux systems including CentOS, Rocky Linux, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
    • Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining servers, workstations, and laptops.
    • Experience with hardware installation and troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with Customer Secure the Enterprise (STE) tasks.
    • Experience supporting secure customer data transfer processes.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
    • PXE boot and system imaging experience.
    • Experience building and managing virtual machines using Proxmox.
    • Identity Management (IdM) and LDAP integration experience.
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
    • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Transport Layer Security (TLS).
    • Windows 10/11 administration experience.
    • Linux networking experience.
    • VMware virtualization experience.
    • Security+ or other DoD 8570/8140 certification.
