Job Description

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Administrator for a on-site opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC.Candidate will provide Tier 2 technical support, systems administration, and infrastructure monitoring within a 24/7 enterprise IT environment. The role will focus on maintaining Windows-based systems, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting enterprise applications and infrastructure, and helping ensure system availability, security, and compliance.

Required Qualifications of the Mid-Level Systems Administrator:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • 3+ years of professional IT experience, including at least 1 year of Help Desk support in a Windows Active Directory environment; alternatively, a 4-year IT-related degree plus 1 year of applicable Help Desk experience.
  • Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, including user and group administration, Group Policy, DNS, organizational units, sites/subnets, and access controls.
  • Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, patch management, software updates, and hardware/software upgrades.
  • Knowledge of enterprise backup, restoration, recovery, and data replication processes.
  • Ability to support desktop and laptop deployments, standardized system images, and routine operating-system and security updates.
  • Ability to troubleshoot multiple technical issues simultaneously while providing responsive support by phone and email.
  • Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance and meet applicable federal background-investigation and residency requirements.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Mid-Level Systems Administrator:

  • Microsoft Fundamentals or CompTIA certification.
  • Experience with enterprise management and monitoring platforms such as SCCM/Microsoft Configuration Manager, SolarWinds, CommVault, VMware vCenter, SCOM, SCSM, Splunk, Nagios, Cisco management tools, or Dell systems-management solutions.
  • Experience supporting large-scale Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-wide patching, deployment, backup, recovery, and infrastructure upgrade activities.

Responsibilities  of the Mid-Level Systems Administrator:

  • Provide Tier 2 remote technical support and systems administration for users and IT personnel in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Monitor enterprise infrastructure and respond to alerts, system issues, performance concerns, and service interruptions.
  • Administer Windows servers, workstations, laptops, domain controllers, application servers, file/print services, storage systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Perform Active Directory administration, account management, Group Policy updates, system configurations, security patching, and routine upgrades.
  • Support enterprise deployment, backup, restoration, recovery, and configuration-management processes while maintaining accurate technical documentation.
  • Assist with hardware installations, equipment moves, cabling, infrastructure changes, and other onsite technical activities as required.

Work Location: Columbia, SC 100% On-Site.
